Searay 240DA 2008 asking US$80,000
This sports cruiser has been mine since new, bought from Simpson Marine which is the Searay broker for Asia. The boat has always been kept and maintained by the broker. It is stored on its own dry dock in the Simpson yard in Aberdeen when not being used. Simpson is also responsible for the general upkeep of the boat, cleaning it before and after each use and most importantly regularly flushing the engine with fresh water to remove any salt build up. As an added bonus for the new buyer all of the cockpit cushions has just been replaced (Aug 2010) by Simpson.
The MerCruiser 5.0 engine is stunning, offering a comfortable cruising speed of 28 knots and making even the most far flung beaches in Hong Kong easily accessible. This yacht has all the gadgetry and creature comforts you would expect in a top of the range sports cruiser. At the helm you have an adjustable helm seat and wheel, chartplotter with Asian maps, GPS, speedo, onboard computer for monitoring the engine, fuel consumption, depth, batteries, and so on. Controls for the stereo are also at the helm and there is also a remote control. The stereo stacks CDs and has an iPod adapter. The cockpit is covered by a retractable bimini, has a cooler box, more cup holders than you could need and a moveable table. The stern has a swim deck with storage locker, sore power adapter, and fresh water shower. Down below there is a V berth and a stateroom in the stern. The galley has a quick cool refrigerator, microwave, sink and gas hob. The head has a vacuum flush toiler and shower. There is plenty of storage space.
