Occupying the hundred-years-old Lei Yue Mun Fort in Shau Kei Wan, the Hong Kong Museum of Coastal Defence will be the first of its kind to feature the history of Hong Kong's coastal defences. The museum, with an area of some 34,200 square metres, is designed to conserve historical structures and relics. Through exhibitions and educational activities, the museum will help to promote public interest in the history of coastal defences in Hong Kong.
