Chambers of Commerce

The Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong is a proactive, non-government body representing more than 700 members with business interests in Canada, Hong Kong and Mainland China. Founded in 1977, we are today the biggest Canadian business association outside Canada and one of the largest and most influential business groupings in Asia-Pacific. Our Members Open to Canadian and non-Canadian members alike, our Chamber represents businesses of every size across the widest spectrum of activities. Our members include managing directors of small and medium-sized companies and multinational corporations, as well as government officials, business professionals and hi-tech entrepreneurs brought together with the common purpose of fostering trade and addressing related issues with a collective voice. Our Purpose Our purpose as a Chamber is to best promote the interests of our members and convey their views to decision-makers in industry and in government. Accordingly, our efforts are directed at maintaining and continually improving a working environment that fosters commerce, facilitates learning and better enables members to exchange ideas and express their concerns. Our Pledge Our Chamber is a members-driven organization. Our pledge is to work tirelessly to facilitate trade for, and between, our members, to provide a platform from which members can address policy-makers and to add real value to membership through our extensive program of publications, seminars, events, functions, missions and preferential purchasing arrangements.

Our mission is to promote, represent and safeguard the interests of the business community in Hong Kong. We have representatives on over 40 Government and non-Government Advisory Boards, as well as the Executive Council and Legislative Councillors, plus three of our members serve on the CPPCC Standing Committee. We manage 23 industry and functional committees, as well as special interest groups, to debate issues affecting business and develop solutions.

Founded in July 1996, the Hong Kong General Chamber of SMEs is a non-profit business association. The main service targets of this association include: proprietors of small and medium enterprises in various industries, professionals providing professional services, and scholars engaged in research of small and medium enterprises. The definition of small and medium enterprises is based on the number of employees. Manufacturing companies that employ less than 100 employees and non-manufacturing companies that employ less than 50 employees belong to small and medium enterprises.

The New Territories General Chamber of Commerce was founded on May 11, 1959. The purpose of this association is to adhere to patriotism, Hong Kong, and hometown. Promote the Hong Kong mainland economy; protect the legitimate business and legitimate rights and interests of the business community; advise the SAR Government and strengthen exchanges and cooperation between the business community at home and abroad to seek common prosperity.

The New Zealand Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong (NZCCHK) was founded in 1992 to promote the New Zealand economic presence in Hong Kong. Since then the continued increases in capital and trade flows between New Zealand, Hong Kong and the People’s Republic of China have been factors in the Chamber's activities. NZCCHK is a not-for-profit organisation established in Hong Kong under the Societies Ordinance Cap 151.
