Hong Kong Art School (HKAS), founded in 2000, is a division of the Hong Kong Arts Centre (HKAC). HKAS is an accredited institute staffed by a group of dedicated artists and art educators, who are active and distinguished practitioners in the field. The School’s award-bearing curriculum focuses mainly on the area of Fine Art (Ceramics, Painting, Photography and Sculpture). Its scope covers programmes with academic levels ranging from Higher Diploma to Bachelor Degree and Master Degree. The short programmes and the outreach projects of the School that run parallel to the award-bearing curriculum span a wide variety of artistic disciplines, and genuinely bridge art and the community.

Back in 1985 when there were hardly any clay studios in Hong Kong, Mak Yee Fun founded The Pottery Workshop with the idea of promoting the art of handmade pottery. She held classes to educate, made work to sell and held exhibitions. The original business license contained the simple description of our studio: “educate, promote and make pottery”. To this day we still follow the same philosophy, adding charity because of the commitment to community-work The Pottery Workshop has offered to local and international individuals and groups. 25 years later The Pottery Workshop holds true to four main tenets: Creation, Education, Promotion, and Charity. These core beliefs have shaped the direction of The Pottery Workshop to be one of the largest ceramic centers in the world.

Toki, originated from the Japanese word (Pottery). We focus on pottery crafting, yet not bounded by tradition, desired to bring our artwork into everyone’s daily life, useful, yet pleasant to your eyes. In our courses, we deliver a way to expose your lifestyle through pottery crafting to daily usage. We wish everyone can show their creativity and experience every moment bought to us by the pottery. Our studio in Quarry Bay offers pottery courses, suitable to all pottery lovers and crafters, let us embrace the beauty of pottery.

TOUCH Ceramics is an inspirational space for you to experience the joy of ceramic making by our workshop, but at the same time to appreciate ceramics art in our art gallery space. By organising exhibitions from ceramic artists worldwide, Touch Ceramics will be not only a place for appreciating the visual impact of contemporary art, but also to amuse the beauty of the traditional craftsmanship.

Tung Yao Ceramics Design Studio was established by Amber Lei after she graduated with an BA in Ceramics from Cardiff Met Art& Design University in 2015. Our platform aims to promote the beauty and importance of handmade ceramics and has three branches between Hong Kong and Jingdezhen – China. The company raises appreciation for handmade ceramics in multiple ways, from running daily workshops for the public to mass supply of artisan pieces for large companies.
