Committed to Hong Kong and to excellence in education, the English Schools Foundation (ESF) makes a vital contribution to Hong Kong's role as an international centre by providing high quality and cost-effective primary and secondary education through the English language.
Established by Ordinance in 1967 with just two schools to provide a "modern liberal education", the ESF now runs 15 schools - five secondary schools, nine primary schools, two kindergartens and a special school. There are over 55 different nationalities in the Foundation's schools. Standards are high - well over 95% of students go on to the best universities worldwide.
The curriculum, leading to the internationally recognised qualifications of GCSE and GCE "A" Level is adapted to Hong Kong and the Asia Pacific region. ESF's 680 teachers are highly qualified with experience of the U.K. and other international school systems. School facilities are safe, secure and of the highest standards. All schools offer a broad range of out-of-school activities, dramatic, musical, sporting and community services in Hong Kong and China. ESF schools are strongly supported by thriving and dynamic parent-teacher associations. |
