In support of the development of the Stand Up Paddle (formerly known as ICF), the ICF (International Canoe Federation) adopted a resolution called Stand Up Canoe at the 2016 meeting. Therefore, this Council has also made a corresponding change to the Chinese translation of the name Row Boat.
This movement originated as early as the 1960s in Hawaii and was called Hoe He'e Nalu. Waikiki's beach kid stands on a long board, propping up the sea, and taking pictures of tourists learning to surf. Around two thousand years ago, Hawaiian windsurfers, like Dave Kalama, Brian Keaulana, Rick Thomas, Archie Kalepa, and Laird Hamilton, considered standing boards as alternative training in the absence of wind and waves.
