The Hong Kong, China Rowing Association (the Association) is the recognized governing body for the sport of rowing in Hong Kong. It is affiliated to the International Rowing Federation (FISA), the Asian Rowing Federation (ARF) and the Sports Federation and Olympic Committee of Hong Kong (SF&OC). It is a company limited by guarantee.
Over the past 20 years there have been many achievements, and rowing in Hong Kong has grown from a confined activity to one which has reached and continues to reach large segments of the population. Rowing today enjoys significant popularity and success, both locally and internationally.
The Association operates its own boathouse facility, the Sha Tin Rowing Center, which is also the base for the majority of its member clubs. The Center was built in 1985 with funds provided by the then Royal Hong Kong Jockey Club. Following several years of planning and hard work, approval has recently been received from the Hong Kong Jockey Club to provide funds for a new Center, also at Sha Tin, and work will start on construction this year.
