Moving RMB out of China to HK

Does anyone have experience in moving RMB out of China? We are looking at Chinese client enquiries. If we collect "domestic" payment from Chinese clients into domestic RMB accounts, how do we move that money into our HK accounts?

Currently we are looking at going through middlemen agencies or money changers. Does any of you have experience in this matter?

If you are a registered company in China, this should be no problem. Even a Foreign Invested Partnership can do this kind of transfer.

If you are not, you can convert CNY into a different currency, then transfer it easily by bank to your account in HK.

Alternatively you can try to move it via personal accounts like HSBC Premier/ Advance.

You can also carry it cash... but this of course if not very safe.

The amount would range from 5k to 300k. For small amount I might just carry it, it's the 100k's that puzzles me. So far, the "best" method seems to be transferring through money changer, but do you know of smarter ways?

It is legal to carry max. RMB30,000 cash from China to Hong Kong per day, just beware of the pickpockets when you pass immigration, especially if you go through the train station

Moving. Money via personal account have a daily limit and u need to find a trustworth person to do so. Money changet is good way as in general reliable as well easy to arranged. Sure, the best is if u could find another company who would like to send money to china on regular basis, there u go.
