transferring money overseas

I am interested in transferring about hkd 1 million back to Canada. I was wondering if anyone could tell me the cheapest way- with best exchange rate and transfer fees- to get the money home. I am presently holding it in an hsbc account. Many thanks for any advice.

I recall transferring a lesser amount some years ago and they charged a transfer fee plus their own exchange rate. However, I'm not sure how their 'buying CDN dollars' exchange rate compares to other banks...thought someone who frequently does this might know of the best deal.

How did it go? I understand that HSBC premier transfer to your own account is free (not to your own account is about 200HKD per txn). But was the exchange rate used? (HKD to CAD)
