Hi all, I trying to understand what the company secretary does when setting up a limited company? Also as I understand it, the director cannot be the company secretary so who can I ask to be one? What if I can't find someone? Does that mean I have to pay someone to be one?

AFAIK any PR can be company secretary,
this information accountants wont tell you since they want you to pay them money to act as CS every year.

wcman, not sure if you are the sole director of the company. If yes, you can't act as the company secretary as well. If no, you can but you have to ordinarily reside in HK.
