New to HK, figuring out the process

I just moved to HK one week ago and am interested in hiring a DH. I need some education about the process in terms of paperwork, fees, etc. ABsically I just want to make sure I do it properly! Any and all advice is welcome!

The easiest and simplest way would be for you to write to Evelyn/Asiaxpat, tell her what you're looking for in a helper, she will send you a list of candidates. Interview them, and when you find one that you like, pay Asiaxpat the agency fee of HK$2,000 and Evelyn will work out the paperwork for you. She will also be able to answer your questions on the process, the fees, minimum wage, levy etc

I agree with that, but please don't ignore the links I provided. The number of employers of FDHs in HK who don't know (or don't even want to know) their legal obligations as employers is astounding. Please don't add to that number.
