maid using guest room toilet
Posted by fusisi80 (260 days ago)
It's my first time to hire DH. I need some advice.
There is a maid toilet next to kitchen, but she only uses guest room toilet. I actually don't have problem with that, but my husband doesn't like it because he often uses it & doesn't want to see her stuff in guest rm toilet.
I don't want to say anything that upsets her, because she looks after my 1yr old baby.
Do many ppl allow maid to use guest room toilet?

You should make this clear with your helper that she cannot use the guest room toilet (unless of course there's a problem with the maid's toilet). I mean, what happens when you have guests over - does she use this with them?

If your husband has a problem with it, he should be able to say that directly to your helper - not leave you wondering how to handle it!
He could ask her if there is a problem with the maid toilet, if the answer is no, then he can ask her why she isn't using it. The biggest mistake is to tread on eggshells around it - makes a simple issue a problem.

Just tell the helper that you will like her to keep to your arrangement . She has a personal toilet, so she need to use and keep her personal toiletries there, without using the other toilets.

I don't understand why my reply has been taken off but my point is that the helper will feel more comfortable dealing with the wife rather than the husband when it comes to the issue of use for a toilet. Certainly the man can have a say in the house but one has to understand the helper herself can also be shy & frighten if approached by the male. That's my thought because whenever my husband complained about our helper or wanted to change some plans, I was the one to deal with her and I think most woman can handle situations in the household better as we have more patience & understanding - at least that's my case.
