Chinese New Year - helper days off

could someone please let me know if the helpers get 4 days off over the period? 7th,8th and 9th (Sat) seems to be the holiday and then they get Sun off - so 4 days - is this right? Many thanks!

Given that helpers are entitled to statutory holidays that would mean the Thursday (7/2), Friday (8/2) and Saturday (9/2)...and if Sunday is the normal rest day it would be a 4-day break.

That's right - 4 days in a row.

Some helpers prefer not to take them or maybe are asked to stay in to help out around the house as their employer's friends & relatives usually come visiting during that busy period and they do get 'lucky money' which is the local gesture. Some prefer to split the days up or maybe add them to their home leave.

Anyway, for whatever reasons, negotiation between the employer and helper can reach a happy deal for both parties.
