HK tourist visa for Helper

We have just started filling out all the forms to hire our helper and have sent them to her to sign (SHE is in the PH). This could mean she woulc not be here until mid March. We are need of her sooner.

Question is, can we bring her to HK on a tourist visa and if so, for how long and how long does it take to get a tourist visa?

She lived in HK before and left when her contract was done with a previous employer last year.

If she comes here on a tourist visa, will she have to go back to PH before she can come back to HK on the work visa? Or can she just go to Macau or Shenzhen?

As far as I know, it will be illegal to work in HK while only being on a tourist status (with or without visa). Better drop the idea.

PH passport holders don't need visas to enter HK and they are normally allowed to stay for 14 days. Thing is, they are not allowed to work while here as tourists. Anyone found employing them illegally can face imprisonment and pay fines as well.

Just wait for the DH visa to come out and in the meantime, maybe get someone part time legally...
