Helper Work Visa Expiration and Traveling

We would like to bring our helper to the US this summer (again). Her US visa is current however her work visa expires in September. We have heard rumors that she will not be allowed to travel with us if she is within 6 moths of her work visa expiring. Is this true? Or can we renew her work visa early???

We renewed our helper's visa early so as to make sure she had enough unexpired time on her HK visa to get a tourist visa to Australia. It didn't seem to be a problem, I just wrote a cover letter to HK immigration and the Philippine Consulate explaining the need to get her HK visa renewed early and sent the letters in with the forms. They processed the papers early without asking any questions. I'll have to do the same again this renewal because of the timing of our next holiday and the expiry of her current work visa. I'm hoping it will be similarly painless this time.
