What happens when they can't pay debt collector?

Just curious if anyone knows what happens when a DH can't pay their debt collector? Is it simply a matter of them leaving town and then escaping the debt, or does it catch up to them in their home country too?

I would think it depends on the debt collector just like any other collection effort, how hard they wish to, whether they choose to go after them.

Some debt collectors start to harras the employer, then it often is a situation where the helper gets terminated. I have heard of some debt collectors that will chase them wherever they are, even if it is back home, if the debt is large enough.

I know one, the debt collectors harrassed also the employers. The helper was terminated by the employer. I felt that the helper was relieved because she will just go home. If debtor left Hong kong, the guarantor friends will suffer because she is the next one to be harrassed including the employer.
