Did anybody have experience on how to employ a hong kong resident helper?
Which documents are required?

Presumably you won't need to pay MPF (depends on salary). Otherwise, you just need to see a permanent ID card and probably take a copy and any written employment contract you want him/her to sign.
Can't think of anything else.
You can check w/the Labour Dept and hire one through them too.

A local HK friend of mine is a part time helper. She is available at night time and on Sunday. If anyone needs help for a few hrs per week can contact me for her contact number.

You can usually find local hong kong resident helpers through an agency. The maid's will usually charge by the hour, @HK$60/hr. If you wish for them to work for you from mondays thru fridays at 4 hours each day, their salary would range from HK$4000 to 4500. From mondays thru saturdays, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., salary range is from HK$9500 to 10,000. For those that has to stay overnight, salary range is from HK$12,000 to HK$15,000.

With that price, I'd simply recommend you to hire one from overseas. Their salary is only HK$3400 plus HK$400 as levy payment to the government.

Also, whether you hire the hk residents or the foreign domestic helpers, remember to buy the comphrehensive insurance to cover them for accidents that might arise.

The levy for FDHs is $400 per quarter = $1,600 pa.

The levy payment for FDH's is HK$400 / month but is payable every 6 months so HK$2400 / 6 months. This amount is transferable to replacement maid as long as you request the transfer within 3 months of termination of the previous helper.

I am new in the mid levels. I have 3 children and looking for someone legally for part time for baby sitting and or cleaning (3-4 days per week, 4-5 hours per day). Can someone help or advise.
