Playgroup/school for 7 months old
Posted by honeypie (452 days ago)
Hi,
Any suggestion where to go for a playgroup?
We've done with PEKIP and enjoyed it much.
We have tried trial class at kindyroo, and will go for kindermusik trial class next. Free trial class would be better.
I know babies doesn't really need this, but it's only once a week that he gets to mingle and socialize with other babies. He doesn't see anyone the whole week except me and husband. No kids in our building playroom so i want him go to a class.
Thanks.........

Tutor Time are very good (hmm I wonder why I'm saying that). The teachers are friendly and warm and enthusiastic and pretty and talented... hehe..
There are 3 campuses, 2 in Kowloon Tong and 1 in Tai Tam. Classes start for children from 6 months to 6 yrs old. There are lots of activities for the kids to do, it's fun and friendly and everyone has a good time!

I second Pupalicious on everything she's said. We send our son to Tutor Time and he absolutely loves it there --looks forward to going and refuses to leave each time! The campus at Tai Tam is very spacious and one other good thing I like is that it is bilingual (50/50 English/Putonghua).

I was not a fan of Tutor Time. Thought they were excellent from an academic point of view, but underemphasised play. Depends on where you are coming from, I guess. I just feel that the children will be sitting in class for years or even decades, at 7 months, I was more interested in the children having some free play and time to socialise. Did not feel that 15 minutes out of 90 gave enough opportunity to do this at TT. Personally, prefer Woodland or just arranging playdates at home or in a club playroom.

They are not bad. They do nothing but play and the baby-accompanists (LOL) help move babies hands and feet etc as they sing songs... If it was more structured or "learning" based I would not be interested.
