(Half)-German children
Posted by STAR&sHINE (271 days ago)
I like to send my daughter to the language playgroup offered by BERLITZ in Admiralty so she gets more exposure to the German language. She speaks mainly English, but understands German.
Unfortunately they don't have enough children to start a group so I was wondering if anyone else is interested to join (age-group 3.5-7 years-old)

Regarding you queries about a German playgroup.
There used to be one in Mid-Levels, which has just moved to a fantastic language school in Wellington Street, Central, near the escalator. The group will start again next week Wednesday, 16-1-08, at 4pm, for 1.5 hours. One can start anytime and fees are very reasonable. It is suitable for all levels, even native and is without parents, so you may do something in the meantime.
They also have a small German library for use by the students.
Don't know if you have older children too, as I know they even offer homework support for older kids going to GSIS, or German for German classes for kids going to non-German schools, as well as adult classes.
My friends' 2, 3 and 9 year-olds go there, so you are welcome to contact me for more info.

Hi Birgit,
This group sounds great, could I have some more information about it. I would love for my son to attend it, as he does not get enough german exposure at home. I am a working mum, so it is possible for the helper to drop him off and pick him up? Thank you Simone

my daughter also goes there with my helper usually- no problem at all.
Hope your son will join- they always have lots of fun with Birgit!
