New Indian mom in midlevels

Hello: I am moving to the midlevels area at the end of the month with my 10-month old son from NYC. Just wanted some advice on full-time preschool/daycares in the area. Does such a concept exist like it does in NY. If not, what are the options for childcare if I am a working mom. Also, can someone please recommend some good pediatricians in the Midlevels/Central area?

The possibilties in HK are endless. There are plenty of preschools and people hire domestic helpers to look after their children full time. You can choose either option, but if you want to hire someone full time they have to live with you full time by law (although some Wetsreners flout this law I don't suggest ignroing it). My son is older than yours, but when I was looking into pre-schools alot of them would take children for full days or half days. It will cost you some money, but since you're from NYC I don't think the prices will shock you too much.

They have a variety of locations. As far as a pediatrician goes, I'm actually going to a family doctor these days but here is a link for a list of almost all the doctors in HK and you can choose them by location or specialty.

As far as advice goes, it's all personal experience here and I've stopped working and neither have a helper or have my child in pre-school, so I can't help there.

By law you are not allowed to send your child to school without a caregiver until they are 3. There are a couple of daycares but not like in NYC. You will need to hire a domestic helper. You can then have your helper take the child to playgroups (many of them run by preschools). Welcome to Hong Kong!
