Hi, I live on Park Island and have so far been disappointed with what's on offer for the kiddies here playgroup wise. I have a 2 year old who needs some stimulation and because I am a qualified teacher with training in early childhood I'm thinking of starting my own Western Style playgroup, with the focus to be on FUN not learning as much as possible in two hours. You'd be suprised how much kids learn when they are having fun anyhow! Anyone interested in this idea? If so please PM me.
Thanks Cara, if I can't get any interest here on the island I'll be in touch. I'm really desperate for my little one to get some stimulation but the one playgroup she went to involved her sitting on a chair for 45 minutes reciting flashcards. Needless to say she was not a happy toddler! Even I can't concentrate for that long. I just want her to be a kid, she can learn plenty once she gets to school.
Hi Cara,
Do u have class for 6 1/2 moths old baby?
my baby has difficulties to meet new people. sometimes he cries when he sees strangers near him.
friend of mine suggested to have playgroup class. but unfortunately I couldn't find near by kowloon station. Mostly they have class for 1 year up.
thx.
Stranger anxiety is perfectly normal. There were months that my baby only wanted me... not even daddy would do.
But my classes start at 10 months(walking). We do arts & crafts and things that I think your baby would be too small for. The best suggestion is not to push your baby too hard and let him grow out of it naturally. If he still cries when he sees strangers in a couple of months, then try a playgroup. Generally playgroups for children under a year are more for parental support than for the children.
Good luck! Please feel free to email me if you have any other questions:
