this depends if it is a playgroup with set activities or a mum & toddler group which is essentially free play in a hall with toys set out. for playgroup usually minimum age is 18months - 2yrs old, for mum and toddler usually 10 months, however with both my kids I found mum and toddlers a waste until they were walking, they both started at 13 months and my son still attends with my helper the mornings i work. My second child also goes to a baby group at Woodlands which is designed for crawlers/ beginner walkers and is just right for 14 months old. You should just check the pre-schools in your area and ask to visit and get the information pack/ brochure. In central there are lots of baby classes, Kindermusik is great, but I found some of them very expensive and repetitive, it seemed many were to keep helper busy and happy, not baby!!!!
