Moving to HK with 1,5 year old
Posted by pjn (1069 days ago)
Hi,
We will be moving from Finland to Hong Kong in mid September with our 1,5 year old daughter. I'm very interested in finding activities with our girl, playgroups, children's music group etc.
I've understood that different areas have their own playgoups. We will be living in Old Peak Road, so groups near that would be nice to know.
Because I'm new with these kind of activities in Hong Kong, would some one be kind and tell me what do you usually do in playgoups, how often do you go there, do they cost something?
I would be happy to get any kind of advices and tips concerning activities with toddlers in Hong Kong. Thanks in advance.

There's lots of stuff in HK for little kids- plenty of places ready to take your money! Your nearest will probably be the play group at the Union Church in Kennedy Road or the PPA in Borrett Road (www.hkppa.info) - don't know what they charge as I've never used either. There's also a very nice Parents & Toddler group at Wanchai Methodist church, Kennedy Road (on the corner of Queen's Road east).
You're also close to the YWCA which now has lots of kids' activities (www.esmdywca.org.hk)
-I'm sure you'get plenty more suggestions, but yes, you have to pay for everything here, as anything English speaking is privately run, though church groups tend to be more reasonably priced. You'll make lots of friends in Old Peak Road, there are a lot of families up there.
