Hi spare rib,
The YMCA group is good value, better for younger (up to about 18 months). But if you are stuck to go anywahere else it is perfectly fine. It is very inexpensive, about $40- I think. Get there early as it is a first come first serve, unless you are a YMCA member. It is not necessary to take out membership purely for this. The kids really like the sing-a-long at the end of the session too. I can get back to you about ice-skating. My friend has been taking her 3 yo son and says he loves it.
The YMCA has ToddlerWorld and new enrollment is coming in early December for next term. I have been taking my son but I think he is getting bored with it now. It is great for asain families that want there children learning in a weatern medium however if you are looking for western learning with chinese as an added extra I would suggest woodlands group with 8 locations around Hong Kong.
If you do decide to go with YMCA, and it is a good starter< you will need to take en enrollment VERY early on enrollment day to get a place as memebrs and current students get priority. Enrollment starts at about 8.30 am, I went at about 8am and had a big queue in front of me. I hope this helps. Good Luck and I will try to get back with you on the ice skating.
