I am new to HK and to Asia Expat. I have a 17 month old baby boy who needs to make new friends. We went to the Rumpus Rooms today as I heard about it from a friend. It was wonderful but most of the babies there were 9 months to a year old. It was a shame as Ollie had a ball but it would have been better if more babies his age were there. We are going back on Thursday morning if anyone with a 17 month + year old wants to go. If you have any better suggestions, please let me know.
You might also want to try HKPPA on Borrett Road or Union Church on Kennedy Road. They both do mum and toddler sessions which are a good way to meet people.
I went to PPA on Borrett Rd, but it was full of helpers, it was very dirty and all the toys were either broken or not appropriate for my babe's age (11 months)
Thanks for the advice evereyone. I went to the PPA yesterday and I agree with Tanya, it wasn't great but it was cheap. think I'll stick with Rumpus as it is only 75 and clean.
Another option might be one of the Pre-Schools, the Woodlands in Caine Rd have mum and baby classes for 12 months up, I have enrolled my child in their Happy Valley school for playgroup in january, and the principal asked if I would be coming (I am )and recommended a class that has mostly mums. The class has some structure, but still lots of play and is clean and with nice equipment.
Unfortunately I now can't open the Rumpus Rooms page (I assume you need flash). I seem to remember a while ago when I looked that it's open Mon-Fri. Does anyone know if they have plans to open it on the weekends?
