learning mandarin
Posted by hongkongdaddy (827 days ago)
Anyone have any information on mandarin Chinese playgroups or just any sort of Chinese classes for kids? I'm interested for the younger ones (under 2), but also for an older one who is almost 8 years old. Thanks.

woodlands run a bi lingual playgroup at the Caine Rd school, or they did last year. It was fun.

has anyone tried the program? or anyone tried anything at KinderU? I've seen them advertise a lot, but I haven't heard anything positive yet.

Hi Mike 8888
KinderU is awful! I used to have friends that worked there and they're not trained with the right-brain program, they employ illegal staff and the staff turnover rate is really high. If you want to do the flashcards, KinderU sell the Glen Doman flashcard set and you can do it at home. I agree that lammum that Woodlands do bilingual programs for little ones too. I think from 17 or 18 month olds to 6-7 year olds. At least Woodlands know what they are doing, unlike KinderU.

Rocco,
I second your comment. I went there on my trial appt- but couldn't believe how screw up the owner was! The classes there never full (was told by one of her staff quitely), but looking at how she play hard-to-get-in kind of attitude. Such a pissed off. Especially, when you are there with 2 toddlers. She is NOT children-friendly at all. So bottom line is PURELY for money. Staffs (at least I believe so) not trained as each staff give you all the diff info. Lady boss hugging onto all the info, the rest not more than puppets. So pissed of, that I didn't even get the material from them...u can get the same one from PAGE1 bookstore (not the flashcard- I DIY myself).
