The internet is rich with free phonics pages - if you google phonics + Kindergarten you will get to a lot! Here is my two favorites, along with above mentioned abcteach: http://www.kidzone.ws/ ; http://www.first-school.ws/INDEX.HTM
Also, the COSMOS BOOKSHOP in Johnston road, Wanchai have lots of phonics books in their kids section downstairs!

yes, Wise Kids are available throughout Hong Kong, including TST and Causeway Bay. Bookshops are also good including some Dymocks and Page One. It really does depend on which phonics system you're looking for though. Jolly Phonics is the most ubiquitous, but also one of the least effective.

It was interesting reading this thread as I have just come home from a parent/teacher chat at kindie and I was asking her about their phonics system - they use Jolly Phonics and was interested to find some new ways of making learning the letters FUN at home.
Miguelito, I was interested in yoru response saying Jolly Phonics was least effective. Can you share what you think is better?

I gone through a lot of different phonics systems in Hong Kong for many years and was even formally trained in a few of them over many weeks (and have written several reviews for an educational magazine). I tried Jolly Phonics at one centre and after going through a number of the systems, it was one of the most outdated and truly ineffective systems. The material was not engaging, students were confused, didn't get the actual sounds (though they did remember some of the silly, useless stories that went with the sounds). However, since it is so widely used, parents don't seem know how poor the system is. Another overhyped and outdated system is Fun with Phonics.
I know that most centres are simply pleasing parents and I honestly don't know of any centres that have offered any alternatives to the existing junk. One system that I've seen and tried that had far better results was curriculum offered by Oxford University Press. It is currently being implemented at some of the International School in Hong Kong. But I'm in no way endorsing it as I'm not affiliated with Oxford. Just answering your question as one (of many) systems that are better.

migulito - Apart from "writing several reviews in educational magazines" and "trained in a few over several weeks" - are you a trained journalist or writer with qualifications?
or do you have any other teaching qualifications to back up your statement?
As a qualified educator I find your comment very interesting.
