Hi there,
I would like to meet up...have two girls, one is 3 years old and the other is 8 months. How old are your little ones? What days work for you?

Hi! My little boy is 22mnths and is going to a trial class at Bright Sparks next week. I was wondering if anyone had been already and had some feedback to share. I hear it's a pretty new centre.

My friend takes her 20 month old daughter to Bright Sparks and says she loves it. It is run by 2 British ladies and she says it has a very relaxed and happy atmosphere - I know they do lots of singing because I've heard the songs on several occasions when I've been out with my friend!!!! Well worth a try I would say.

A friend of mine takes her son there and he loves it. I also heard that you can go for a free trial, so I might take my 18 month old for a freebie! She said the women there are really friendly and do some great fun stuff with the kids.

Bright Sparks is on the corner of Ventris and Broadwood across from the church.I had a look around before I booked my trial and it's nicely laid out and yes, the ladies who run it seem very friendly!!. I'll let you know what the playgroup programme is like once we've been.

i heard bright sparks is nice and very much play oriented and relaxed. another choice in happy valley is the woodlands but my friend says the really great playgroup teacher there has left now. methodist church does toddler and mummy sessions which are a good way to meet other mums and entertain the little ones in a very relaxed atmosphere - it is nr happy valley and lots of the kids from happy valley go there. or just go to the playpark at the end of the racetrack after 3pm.

where is the methodist church? im very interested in doing something with other parents in the area. Anyone in or near Village Terrace with children 5 or under?. Went to the Indoor Playground this weekend which was nice , library etc.

methodist church is at the corner of Queen's rd east and Kennedy rd. my son goes on a fri morning but i know it is on most mornings, you pay monthly and it is really cheap compared to most. the lady running it is Kathy Pierrepont and the number i have is 25757817 for the church. i took my older daughter for a year aged 1 1/2 - 2 1/2 yrs old and she is still friendly with most of the kids she met there and is now 5. i am back working so my helper takes my son. They had some mornings more helpers and others mums only.

Thought I'd follow up after my Bright Sparks trial. It is a play oriented group, but they do use monthly themes to stimulate the kids interest and development. The craft activites are lovely and very age appropriate, the staff are experienced and enthusiastic and they offer some really interesting circle time activites..AND the songs they use are infectious!! (Can you tell I signed up!) I have gone to the Methodist too and it is a great price, is a really big space and has lots of equipment, but it is purely play. Great for chatting to other Mums.

Hi. I went for a trial yesterday at Bright Sparks in Happy Valley and thought it was great. The staff really made my little girl feel (she's 2) at home & we all joined in with the songs & painting. I've joined for 2 days a week.

Have you tried the Happy Valley Woodland school? That's meant to be great.

its OK , i wouldnt say 'great'. I would like to know of any GREAT playgroups in Happy Valley. Bright Sparks sounds good , but when i looked it had too many windowless dark rooms , maybe they have more space at the back or something.
