What is the class size for Nursery Group

Hi,

Just want to find out the typical class size for the Nursery Group. My girl will be entering to a preschool next month, and the maximum class size for the Nursery class is 31 students, with a total of 3 teachers. Is the class size too big, or is it a norm in HK?

The kinder my daughter is at has a ratio of 1 adult to about 6 children. It is a pretty calm environment and the kids get a lot of attention. Personally I'd like to see at least one more (if not 2) teachers for that size class.

As a teacher I think more than 20 under 4 year olds in one class is way too big. Ratio should be one to 10 max with qualified early childhood teachers. you may find only one teacher is qualified and the other 2 assistants. For over 4 years old perhaps 24 in a class with 2 teachers is ok. But again it depends on what you are paying and what you ant from pre-school.
