Tai Hang

Hi has anyone lived in Tai Hang area before - the area around Tai Hang Road/Tai Hang Drive?
Is it a convenient location and how is the traffic like at after work hours?
Would appreciate any comments. Thanks!

great area, and in many ways quicker to Central/ Admiralty than from the Midlevels. Traffic flow is usually better. Easy access to CWB, and Jardine's Lookout has both a Welcome and PNS.

It is a great area. There is an express bus (No. 501) and a regular bus (No.11) from Jardines Lookout to Central running til 9am or so. It will only take you about 10 mins if you leave before 8am. There is a minibus that will take you to CWB - close to the MTR station.
I love this area and find it to be convenient yet quiet.
The quality of air is not bad either - probably cos fewer low raise than Mid-Levels.

How about the traffic back to Tai Hang at after work hours after 7pm? Seems like Tai Hang Road is the main road to be used, and the traffic going towards Causeway Bay before getting on Tai Hang Road can be bad.
Do you know anything about Wang Fung Terrace as well? The buildings there are nice and big, but quite old. Not sure if the buildings have been well maintained or not.
Thanks!!!

Wang Fung Terr gets a good view overlooking the football field. I've seen No.9A and No.12, well maintained. 9A is such a classic. Maintenance depends on individual building.

The traffic back to Tai Hang after 7pm from Central is not that bad - typical Hong Kong traffic. I assume you work in Central. Generally, traffic is quite good by about 8pm.

The old tai hang area is fantastic.Close to Victoria Park , mtr, and the taxi drivers eat in the area so no problem getting one during peak times. There are a lot of new bars and restaurants that have opened up recently.Check out Ming Sun building on the corner of Wun Sa St.
