US xpat looking for housing

Hello all,

I just graduated from UNC in the US and I have a job offer in Hong Kong and I am begining to look at housing in the area.

As a very outgoing, social, young professional eager to meet people and have a good time, what areas should I look into for housing? I would love to be in an area with lots of young professionals like myself, that is also an easy commute to central (where i will be working).

Also, I am extremely into american sports. Does anyone know of any rec. basketball, softball, or even american flag football leagues that i might be able to join.

I've never been to Hong Kong, so anything you could tell me would be extremely helpful.

midlevels. this ~ area also sometimes referred to as Soho (South Of Hollywood Road) ...anything within walking distance of the Escalator which will be marked on your HK map...but note that is more expensive than other areas so subject to your accommodation budget.

Quite a lot of westerners live in Kennedy Town - not far from central and you get slightly more room for you money than in Soho / Mid levels.
