In my experience websites and expat agents are not much use, particularly if you're looking outside the usual expat areas. A bit of legwork is much more likely to get you many more choices and much better value. Go to the villages you are interested in and talk to the property agents nearby, or pop into the village office and have a chat. Doing this also helps you to get a feel for the different villages.
