Landlord wants to show apartment

I have 2 months left on my rental contract and do not plan to renew. My landlord would like to show my apartment to potential new tenants during the remainder of my tenancy - even though we did not agree to such an arrangement before. What's standard practice here? Any advice? Thanks.

your landlord is the owner of the flat and definitly has the right to show the flat.

Disagree - most rental contracts will have it written in them that landlord requires new tenants/buyers to view in last two months of contract. If your contract does not specify this then it is my understanding that you are not required to show your apartment to potential new tenants. Best to check your lease agreement.

That's the thing - it is not in the contract, thus I agree with TC on this one. The landlord does not have the right to enter my apartment without permission.

So, I guess it becomes an opinion game - do I let the landlord with prospective tenants in or not? Perhaps make it conditional. Thoughts?

To be honest if you are leaving then is it such a hassle to let prospective tenants view?

Most tenants don't show for viewing, some fixed a period like 2 hours in a week. I come across a tenant charge $100 for each viewing.

Even the contract says two weeks before expiry they have to show at reasonable hours, but many tenants just make excuses not to open up if they reluctant to do. All depends on your relationship with your landlord.
