Water damage

Help we had flood inside lounge 6 weeks ago.All windows and doors closed properly.Flat in bldg less than 2 years old.Mgt Co insist water must have come from roof above- it did NOT.Now got side walls paint bubbling and wooden floor cracking up.Gammon subcontracted the Development out and no one will take responsibility to help us.Lounge was 7" high in water when we woke up and carpet and rosewood furniture damaged.Cant afford lawyer or to pay for new floor ourselves.Help what can we do to make someone who? responsible???Grateful for any advice.l

Sorry to hear about this, did you have any insurance ?

Where did the water come from ?, if not from roof above. What floor are you on ?

I live on the top floor with use of the roof.Only insurance is with the mortgage.

You can claim for the damage to the walls and flooring on your fire policy (this is the insurance the bank makes you take out with the mortgage).

Please note that due to the time frame on this you better get moving, you need to call your insurer and get them to send a loss adjuster/surveyor over asap



The carpet and the other furniture you will need to replace yourself unfortunately unless you can prove substandard workman ship by the subcontractors/develper. This I am sure will cost you more money in fighting than you will ever recover.
