I read that some people are renovating old godowns into interesting loft-style apartments in parts of Hong Kong.
I was told by someone that doing this is technically illegal because these apartments are not in residentially zone buildings.
This makes it difficult to sell them on.
If the market comes down when the world sees the how false this economy is we are considering buying one of these, renovating and renting it.
What are the risks and downsides?
Where are the best areas to find these types of properties?
