Solid wood or bamboo flooring?

Reflooring apartment and torn between beautiful solid timber or eco-friendly bamboo. Solid timber means felling more rainforest but I'm told bamboo is more prone to termites. If you have either type of flooring, wd appreciate opinions on their pros & cons. Many thanks.

I am building a garage in Bali of bamboo... there are ways of treating it so that bugs won't eat it... also there are companies that engage in sustainable harvesting...

Bamboo will rot and split. Its no longer eco-friendly once you treat it with all these chemicals (ask yourself how these chemicals are made).

I'd stick with teak. It'll last forever and there's no embargo on Burmese teak in Hong Kong, so enjoy!
