Yes it's great - really casual, a great place to catch up with friends. & the decor touches (event he waiters uniforms) are very clever.

The place it good, especially the balcony (on a cool nite) but found the staff are quite undertrained, messed with our order 3 times in one nite, and this was not just one person 2 of them....
But the ambience makes up for the poor service (which hopefully will improve with time).

There is a whole bunch of new resto's in that location, the J Senses complex (that's the right name ?) and most of them sound more appealing than the one you mentioned here. Contemporary British ? Not even Harry Ramsden could hack it, remember.

I tried their fish and chips and it was really, really awsome!

going tonight everyone, many thanks for all your input - will report back. As for ppatio's comment - I lived in London for 10 yrs and let me know tell - London restaurant and food beat HK ones hands down - easy! Food is absolutely brilliant there - are you sure you are not talking about british food back in 1960-ies? And how on earth is Harry Ramsden?

Harry Ramsden is a "world famous" (at least in Yorkshire) fish & chips restaurant. They once opened a restaurant (or maybe 2) in Wanchai -next to Hopewell Centre- pre-1997. Incidentally, they were one of the very few places that did NOT have a 10% service charge.
Maybe patio was referring to generic British food and its 'reputation' (bland, boring, starchy, overcooked etc.)

oh, thanks heineken - no wonder i have never heard of Ramsen fish and chips. Pawn was excellent by the way - would hightly recommend! As for food in UK, i have already added my 2 cents - beats HK restaurants hands down!
