Feather Boa
Posted by Sante (1185 days ago)
Heard of this place. Can anyone tell me where it is located?
Find what you are after in our Hong Kong A-Z Directory

Staunton Street. Past the Corner Shop. There is no sign indicating Feather Boa. An old looking blue door is the entrance for Feather Boa.

Thanks A

is this place only members only?
Posted by bluepoppy (1184 days ago)
It's open to all but it's so tiny it looks like a private club - pretty cool decor.
Posted by freshair323 (1184 days ago)
Is it near esculator or the opposite side of it street?
Posted by A (1184 days ago)
If you go up the escalator and walk down the lane where Stauntons bar is past Jaspas and the corner shop you will see it on the left hand side of the road. An old blue door. Cant tell its a bar from outside.

sound like an interesing place...
what kind of food they serve ?
Posted by FOTH (1180 days ago)
Do they do food? I thought it was basically a drinks place... (unless you count the Maltesers in the Martini as food)
Posted by A (1180 days ago)
No food, just drinks! Nice decor and atmosphere, like lounging in someone's living room.

Beware of Stella's killer c*cktails... for a teetotaller, she mixes some wild (vile too, sometimes) drinks.
Posted by rain (1178 days ago)
IS she the owner I wonder
Posted by BarefootChrissy (1178 days ago)
Yes, Stella is the owner from what I've heard.
Just took a friend there last night who's an FB virgin. He was absolutely blown away by the place and the look on his face was just priceless. I *love* taking newbies there so they get to see a whole different world they didn't even know existed...
It's always these little hole-in-the-walls that give this city such distinctive personality and character, and I love that.
Feather Boa is a must-try. You won't regret it.

Yeah we'r taking visitors there too and the second is balailaika, these two are on top of our list!!
Posted by Sashimi Girl (1178 days ago)
where's balailaika? is it like feather boa?
Posted by Sante (1177 days ago)
No, Balalaika is nothing like Feather Boa, it's a Russian restaurant with a chill room where you have to don a fur coat to drink vodka. It's kind of fun. Feather Boa is more intimate and more suitable for couples.

By the way, Balalaika is in LKF Tower, Lan Kwai Fong, entrance at the end of D'Aguilar Street. There's also one in Knutsford Terrace, Tsimshatsui, near Miramar Hotel.

I must also give thumbs up to feather boa, groovy atmosphere and good drinks. Does anyone know of any other little hidden treasures like it in HK?
Posted by rain (1172 days ago)
but sometimes F.B is way too crowded and kind of loosing the atmosphere.

When my girl friend and I went to Feather Boa a few months ago (March/April) we were told that it was members only and that they would let us stay that one time.... I had gone there the night before with my BF(who happens to be Caucasian) and wasn't told anything and we had a great time. My friend and I are Japanese.... but the other people there (95% Caucasians) weren't members either. Stella took our business cards and said that she'd send us an application form in the mail.... have not recieved anything in the mail till date. She said the same thing to a Chinese guy who came in later as well. Strange. Is it members only or isn't it?
Posted by Dennyboy (1166 days ago)
Its not members only - just depends whether Stella's 'got the decorators in or not'.
Bars open to make a profit by selling drinks, pref premium label - when they see 2 asian girls together they sometimes worry that they will make 1 drink last 3 hours as space is a premium in HK (especially in bars as big as my bedroom)
Racist but true unfortunately. There are not too many members-only places around - many of them who claim to be just say so to have the right to refuse you entrance with a face-saving excuse.
Posted by BarefootChrissy (1165 days ago)
rain> It all depends on what time you go there - if you make an entrance after 10pm it's difficult to find a spot to park, but if you show up before that it's usually not so bad :)
CM> Sorry to hear about your not-so-pleasant experience with FB. Must agree with Dennyboy that there's no such thing as "members only" - there's only "Stella's-favorite-regulars only" where she welcomes only people she likes to see.
Dodgy, I know, but since it's her bar there's not much you can do...hope you'll have better luck the next time you go there.
