Hi, could someone give me some ideas on which Indian restaurant would be ideal to throw a private birthday party. Also I would prefer restaurants in league of aveda, viceroy etc... Thanks

i heard that Gungadins on Wyndham Street is opening soon after a 'make over'. It was always my favourite for indian food and I believe they have a room for functions. 2523 1276

Popped in to Gunga Dins the other day. Glad to see that the food is still as good as ever and the new decoration gives the place a comfortable and clean appearance. This restaurant has been around for many many years.

I've had B'day parties both at Viceroy and Veda(not Aveda! That's a cosmetics brand). And both are absolutely great space wise.
Viceroy has a better view (harbour view) and also open air terrace. Food, of course is authentic Indian and tasty.
Veda has off beat food, unusual dishes created by their own executive chef. So, it gives a fresh appeal and people love that!
Bombay Dreams and Jashaan have good food but space wise are pretty cramped up, esp., if you've around 40 to 45 people. I've attended private parties at both these places.
