Are you sure this is in the right forum, or are you asking what a maid can do as far as shopping (in HK and/or Shenzhen) is concerned?

But basically they could be expected to do anything to help you with running your home - cleaning, cooking, laundry, ironing, grocery-shopping, childcare, car-washing...

As a first-time employer I urge you to be fully aware of your legal rights and obligations (as well as those of the helper). There are too many threads posted on this site from employers who clearly are not aware of their obligations.

Read some of the posts in the other forum to get a feel for what can go wrong. And visit the Immigration and Labour Departments' websites where there is a lot of useful information available. Here's a good link to start with:
