Landlord trouble - aircon Posted by Hoa (406 days ago) The aircon in our living room has been broken for four weeks now. The management office sent several repair people who could not fix it and we have now waited for 10 days to find out what will happen next - they probably have to install a new one. We have not heard from the management (colliers) for a week, although we try to contact them almost daily. Is there anything we can do? We have no way of contacting him directly and have to go through the management office. They have acknowledged that the landlord is responsible for fixing the problem and sent several repair guys (we had four visits!) but the electrical wiring in the ceiling seems to be a problem - apparently it's too difficult to fix it as they would have to tear open the ceiling. It think we will go with HK1's suggestion. Are there any legal options? I think if you read your tenancy agreement, it prohibits you from this and should you do this, you will be stuck with the repair bill.
