Wedding in Macau

Hi
My fiance and I would like to get married in Macau registry. We are British but live and work in Hong Kong. Can someone please advise the process if we want to go to Macau to sign our certificate? I assume our marriage will then be registered in Macau and not appear in the Hong Kong wedding register?

According to Macau Regulations, to be eligible to register a marriage in Macau at least one of the parties to the marriage shall be a Macau resident with a Macau ID, or at least have established ‘ordinary residence’ there. Therefore you are not eligible to register a marriage in Macau.

Thanks for your post. Do you know if this is the same for other places in Asia? We are residents of Hong Kong but would like to get legally married elsewhere in Asia ie Hainan, Thailand, Singapore etc. Any info will be very helpful. Thanks.
