Is my daughter entitled to apply for a UK passport

My father was a British policemen and came out from the UK.He served in the Royal HK police force from 1952-1976. I was born in HK and I am holding a UK passport. I was told that my daughter should be entitled to a UK passport as her grandfather served in the police force in HK and she should get her entitlement through grandfather rights.......with no passport office in HK anymore and with all the problems of even getting our UK passports renewed now ,I would appreciated if any one could direct me to who I should approach for more info. THANKYOU.
