HK Driver's License Suspension

Hello:

I have accumulated 17 points on my HK Drivers License in less than 2 years and have received a notice to appear in court. The letter states that I am liable to be disqualified from holding a driving license for 3 months. Do I need to bring a lawyer with me to this court appearance? Could someone explain to me how the court proceedings will go and what I should expect?

I'm not too concerned about the suspension but I don't want to be unprepared and risk receiving a larger penalty than I otherwise would. Thanks very much. AC

No need for ambulance chasers just got to court and hand in your license unless you have special reasons why you should not be suspended i.e. you are handicapped and driving a registered h'cap vehicle and can't do without it.
Drive carefully in future and obey the laws they apply to you just as anyone else, you are not above the law whether you have money to pay the fines or not. Road laws are there to protect peoples lives notto stop your driving enthusiasm.
