Tenancy agreement incorrect do I have recourse ?

I just signed a tenancy agreement starting at the beginning of the month. On
the inventory list, it says "washer", but the object in question is actually a washer/dryer.
The washer/dryer is broken and now the owner is claiming that they only
have to replace with a "washer" as per the contract.

Do I have any recourse? What should I do ?

You would think that the landlord would do the right thing and replace like with like to keep you as a tenant happy. Unfortunately if it says Washer as per the contract then you don't really have any recourse. You could accept a washer, buy your own dryer or volunteer to pay something towards the washer dryer or buy your own and sell it when you leave. Sounds as though your landlord is unreasonable.
