Adding Chinese name to HK identity card

I have had to add a Chinese character name to my HK identity card in order to have my home re-entry permit renewed. I was told that I had to update the amendment with the transport dept ....I would appreciate if any one else has done this and could they let me know what other documents would have to be amended . THANKYOU.
