unsalted cheese

ooppssss.... i just noticed the cheese i have been feeding my baby contains salt. can anyone tell me which brand does not contain salt. my baby is now 8.5mths old. thanks!

I think most cheeses have salt in them - part of the process of making cheese. (sorry not a cheesemaker so can't tell you for sure.)


you could make "yogurt cheese" which is simply draining the yogurt through a sieve and cheesecloth - and that would have low/no salt.


i have seen "no salt" cottage cheese - but I don't know where you would find it in HK.


I think it would be more important to feed your child natural cheeses - not the processed kind. Parmesean, romano reggiano are saltier cheeses so stay away from those.


perhaps swiss? Gouda?
