Can anyone recommend a credit card that allows you to pay your HK taxes and also earn bonus points/mileage rewards? I hear rumors every year about people paying taxes with their credit cards and earning points, but when I call the banks, they say you cannot earn points.

Last year, you could pay with HSBC c/card and earn points, up to a certain date, but I don't know if they'll do it/are doing it this year.

Foolonhahill - HSBC allowed it for sure... i did it for a few years, in fact they cut if off on 15 Dec 2005, I paid my tax early last year just to pick up the points. I guess it won't happen again.

What is the procedure for paying with a credit card? Do you go in person to Inland Revenue?

Hsbc used to allow it but doesn't any more... I guess they figure people are going to do it quite often even if they don't get points for it...
