you can book up to 3 months in advance - and you have to book no later than 3 weeks before the date - as long as the date is available you can book up to 3 weeks before online - or go to gov offices - admiralty and you can book there too.

engage a civil celebrant (i.e. lawyers qualified to act as one) and you can get him/her to conduct the ceremony at the venue of your choice. application to be made within 3 months of the desired date and of course asap to allow for paper work (including the public posting of the notice for 15 days)

...or if you are thinking of Kowloon instead of HK island you should go to the registry office in the Cultural Centre complex. (The Admiralty office is in the building next door (towards Central) to Pacific Place. It's a fairly simple procedure provided you have all of the necessary documentation. Might be worth getting a checklist first - there's a pamphlet available from Immigration (they are responsible for registration of births, deaths & marriages) offices and possibly online too.

Thanks Christian, did not even know the offices open so early. My boyfriend is not in HK and will be comign down just for the ceremony so they advised to bring along a copy of his passport. Do we need a civil celebrant, is it not possible for them to arrange one for us?
