Taxi situation Sheung Wan/ Mid-Levels East, esp. Hollywood Terrace, Island Crest, One Pacific Heights

Hi,

We are moving back to HK and are thinking about living in Sheung Wan as we quite like the area and it's still in walking distance to SoHo/ even LKF (outside summer). We take taxis a lot and so taxi availability is quite important for us (besides being close the the MTR).

At the moment we are still considering many options, e.g., One Pacific Heights, Island Crest or even something on Hollywood Road like Hollywood Terrace. Not sure about Caine Road as too far from MTR. Maybe even Kennedy Town (once MTR is up next year) but I also feel this is too far from Soho to walk (which we like).

How is the taxi availability there, in general and esp. in the morning? My hours are somewhat flexible so if it's only bad until 0900 but ok afterwards I can adjust my schedule.

Also, are there any streets which are always jammed so should be avoided?

Thanks in advance!

I see plenty of taxis on Hollywood Road / Queens Road West around 9:30am, although I don't pay attention to whether or not they are full.

It is a very quick walk from Sheung Wan to escalator - 10 minute straight shot on Hollywood or Queens Road.
